Square Enix Teases A Big Release For 2020
Square Enix has announced that a they are planning a major release for next year, this was revealed by the publisher during its latest financial results conference. Square Enix also where it also revealed that Shadow of the Tomb Raider has sold over 4.12 million copies from September – December 2019.
Just Cause 4 was also released during this period, and the company is hoping to give sales a shot in the arm via updates and ‘other initiatives.’
Square Enix is looking to reduce the time between announcing a game and its release, too, which is probably a wise choice considering Final Fantasy VII Remake was unveiled nearly four years ago and we still don’t have a date.
I’ve seen some recent videos from very well known creators that points outs how Square Enix seems to have forgotten about Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy has been updated for mobile devices, later games haven been released for newer systems, Final Fantasy IX has just been included to the Switch’s line up and Final Fantasy X has received an HD refresh. It really comes to our attention that Final Fantasy VIII seems like the black sheep of the series.
Some friends points out that the battle system is awkward and hard to get used to, and I recently revisit the game and for me it hasn’t lost any of its charm. I would definitely love an remake of the game. What would you like to see from Square Enix, are you a Tomb Raider fan or would like some classic RPG game to be next?
