If you took it upon yourself to build a Steam console with Steam OS installed and also happen to be Payday 2 fan, now is time to rejoice, as Starbreeze Studios finally released the SteamOS version of Payday 2 for $19.99 on Steam.
For existing owners of Payday 2 for the windows version of Steam, you can now snag this shooter for free and add it into your Steam OS library. The SteamOS version of the game will additionally support the Steam Controller and SteamCloud which is a feature that enables users to sync their save files between the different operating systems.
For those who don’t know about the Payday Series, this series is about tactical co-op FPS where players have to sneak into a bank, work in conjunction with other team members to disable security systems, taking out security guards, loot the place and get out of the scene without getting caught, and in order to successfully complete missions, communication, coordination and team work are key for the success of the missions.
The game has a very steep learning curve and at the same time, that challenge is what really adds into the appeal of the game; managing to successfully complete a mission without setting off the alarms and not attracting attention is a very rewarding feat to achieve in this game.
The SteamOS version of PAYDAY 2 will continuously be updated day and date with the existing Windows version of the game.
