According to the investigation of a Reddit user, several Star Wars Battlefront 2 actors may be doing motion capture for EA’s latest installment of the sci-fi franchise.
Janina Gavankar (Iden Versio), Anthony Skordi (Admiral Garrick Versio), and T.J Ramini (Del Meeko) were all in Los Angeles in November 2020 – at least from the 9th to the 22nd of November. All cast members posted photos of themselves either in a voice recording booth or holding a motion-capture suit.
Ramini and Skordi confirmed in December 2020 that they were recently working together on a yet-to-be-announced project. The only likely project that they could all be working on together is something to do with Inferno Squad, such as a Battlefront game.
There has not been an official statement from EA or DICE about a Star Wars Battlefront 3. However, users are debating the possibility of a reboot or a sequel to the 2017 game.
You can try out Star Wars Battlefront 2 for free right now on the Epic Games Store, as it’s one of the games that the storefront is giving away for free until January 21.
Star Wars Battlefront 2’s reception was mixed or average, the game was reviewed bombed on Metacritic by PlayStation 4 users. The game reached 0.8/10 ratings due to several controversies based on the microtransactions that are present in the game.
Prior to the game’s launch, EA the IP holder and publisher was criticized by fans and the gaming press for the polemic loot-box mechanics and monetization scheme that rewarded players substantial gameplay advantages against players who decided to not pay extra money to win. Players were met with the option to buy the desired item via the in-game currency, or spend endless hours of grind for unlocking the item.
Users were annoyed that approximately over 40 hours of game time were needed to unlock Darth Vader, the character could be unlocked via EA’s in-game currency.
The polemic use of loot-boxes led the developers of the game to admit that they were against the publisher’s decision to implement them in the first place, this was affirmed by Dennis Brannvall, design director behind Star Wars Battlefront believes that if the game had launched without loot boxes now things would be much better for them.
EA has held the exclusive rights of producing and publishing games for the Star Wars franchise, fans are constantly disappointed by delays, and several cancelations of projects.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is arriving for free on the Epic Games Store next Thursday, January 14.
