Sucker Punch, the studio behind Infamous and Sly Cooper, has announced a new game. Ghost Of Tsushima, coming to the Playstation 4 focuses on feudal samurai.

Sony has just revealed Ghost of Tsushima at Paris Games Week event, Developed by Sucker Punch Ghost of Tsushima will be an action-adventure stealth game. Played from a third-person perspective, the game will feature a large open world which can be freely explored.

The game will not feature any waypoint and will allow to be explored without guidance. Players can travel to different parts of the game’s world quickly by riding a horse. An item that acts as a grappling hook will be available to access areas that are difficult to reach.

Players can engage in direct confrontation with enemies using weapons such as a katana. They can also chain up a series of fatal assaults after highlighting the enemies. Alternatively, utilizing stealth allows to evade from enemies and strike them silently.One-versus-one dueling with non-playable characters is also optional.

Here’s the synopsis from Sony:

The year is 1274. Samurai warriors are the legendary defenders of Japan — until the fearsome Mongol Empire invades the island of Tsushima, wreaking havoc and conquering the local population. As one of the last surviving samurai, you rise from the ashes to fight back. But, honorable tactics won’t lead you to victory. You must move beyond your samurai traditions to forge a new way of fighting — the way of the Ghost — as you wage an unconventional war for the freedom of Japan.

Check out the Trailer:

So far, we’ve only seen a cinematic trailer for the new title, but it gives away a few clues: Ghost of Tsushima is set in 1247, and it focuses on Samurai life and swordplay, featuring a calculating and cruel villain intent on conquering the land.

Ghost of Tsushima is a departure for Sucker Punch. Infamous is a decidedly sci-fi kind of story, starring super-powered humans and lots of neon light. Ghost of Tsushima appears to be more serious in tone.
