A 30-second trailer for Star Wars Battlefront II has leaked ahead of the game’s formal unveiling Star Wars Celebration Orlando on April 15.
The 30-second teaser clip shows “game engine footage,” with hints at what we can expect from both its single- and multiplayer experience. It appears that the story mode will have players taking on the role of a young woman fighting on the side of the Empire in a post-Return of the Jedi storyline attempting to “avenge your emperor.”
The real exciting part is the reveal of the new trademark heroes who are joining the game. We see a shot of Darth Maul in the plasma refinery complex from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, but his opponent isn’t Qui-Gon Jinn or Obi-Wan Kenobi, but Yoda ready to wield his tiny lightsaber. Then we see Rey charging through the woods with explosions in the background before the trailer concludes with a shot of Kylo Ren as he looks behind him over his shoulder in what appears to be a cave.

On the title card at the end of the trailer, the central figure is an Imperial pilot, and there are many clips of starfighters and space battles throughout the trailer. This further suggests we’ll see large-scale space battles, including in the campaign.
