Frostbite has been the exclusive engine of EA for all of the games that have been developed within the company for years and it’s third generations which is known as Frostbite 3 is ruling over the first party studios of Electronic Arts, but for Respawn Entertainment seems to be a great exception here, as the studio has used Unreal Engine 4 instead of Frostbite 3 to develop Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and the claim is officially confirmed on Reddit.
When a user on Reddit asked if there is any trustworthy proof on Respawn running Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on Unreal Engine 4, community manager of the series, EA_Charlemagne, commented under question and confirmed the claim above. Right after this, Kotaku’s well-known Jason Schreier posted a tweet on the leaked poster of the game, and stated that he is “very optimistic for this one.” He also mentioned that utilizing Unreal Engine 4 in this project may “convince EA that not everything needs to be on Frostbite.”
Very optimistic for this one. It's the first single-player Star Wars game in forever, there's a ton of talent on the team, and they've had a fair amount of time to work on it. And hey, if it's a big success maybe it'll even convince EA that not everything needs to be on Frostbite https://t.co/CgILCUzhqI
