Motive Studios and Lucasfilm showcased at EA Play Live the gameplay trailer of Star Wars: Squadrons, the six-minute video showcases the different kind of ships, the first person perspective inside the cockpit of a starfighter, and how can players will face intense battles against other players.
Star Wars: Squadrons was announced earlier this week and promises to deliver an “authentic piloting experience” the game will feature cross-play multiplayer, with single-player campaign and not any kind of microtranscactions. The game will launch on October 2, 2020 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

Ian Frazier, creative director of Motive Studios said earlier this week at the game’s announcement:
“We created this game for every Star Wars fan who has ever dreamed about soaring across the galaxy in their favorite starfighter. Through the collaboration of the teams at Motive and Lucasfilm, we’ve been able to create a high-fidelity starfighter experience with an authentic storyline that invites Star Wars fans to explore never-before-seen corners of the galaxy in their own ship.”
“Star Wars: Squadrons will offer rich cosmetic and gameplay customization options with rewards and bonuses that are earned solely through gameplay. As players move up the ranks, they’ll earn components such as weapons, hulls, engines and shields to customize the performance of their starfighters; and gain cosmetic items to customize their cockpit, ship exteriors, and appearance of their pilot.”
During today’s EA Play Live event, Skate 4 was announced, as well as the launch of Apex Legends on Steam and Nintendo Switch, the company also announced that more of their IPs will feature cross-play functionality. Next gen project such as Dragon’s Age 4 and Criterion’s next racing game were teased. It was also announced that their EA games will be present at more platforms than ever, EA Access will also be making its way to Steam, this means that it will be the first subscription service to arrive on Steam.
