Street Fighter fans and fighting game enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the next installment in the highly coveted fighting game franchise. While the genre’s biggest tournament event, EVO, is incoming next month, fans and attendees were half expecting to see and unveiling of the sixth installment of Capcom’s fighting gem.
However, Street Fighter executive producer Yoshinori Ono has attempted to calm any excitement by taking to Twitter surrounding the expectations. While many fans are a bit uneasy considering Street Fighter V was recently taken out of the closing slot for the EVO tournament, this also lead many to believe this could be the end of the SFV era.
Clearly, this isn’t the issue. While Street Fighter V has been around for three years now, it seems the next installment is still a ways away. Or, at least, that’s what Ono wants us to believe.
EVO is set to begin on August 2 and will run all weekend until August 4, 2019 in Las Vegas, NV.
