Over the weekend, DC held their DC FanDome event which showcased much of what is in the works for the DC universe. During this time, we finally got a deeper look at the upcoming Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League which is being developed by the Batman Arkham development team over at Rocksteady Studios.
The trailer, which is aptly named “Ticking”, perfectly showcases the rock and the hard place players will be thrown into when taking control of the members of Task Force X. After the DC Villian Brainiac seemingly takes control of the justice league, the team comprised of Harley Quinn, King Shark, Deadshot, and Boomerang are given the official directive to “Kill The Justice League”.
Anybody familiar with why they are often referred to as The Suicide Squad either through their comics or the most recent movie knows that failure to complete this task will result in a bomb in planted in their necks going off killing them… With the trailer really driving home the damned if you do, damned if you don’t attitude, with a large dose of humor.
The game’s story will feature the ability to be played single-player, or allow you and your friends to play Co-Op with each character bringing their own style to combat. Thankfully the game will have a large Open-World playground in the form of Metropolis that you and your friends can explore.
The trailer ends by giving a release window of 2022 for when we can expect the game, but no time frame as to when during that year we might see it. If that wait seems like a lot, in Suicide Squad-related news a trailer for the upcoming Peacemaker show, which will continue from James Gunns Recent The Suicide Squad movie was also showcased. It will be premiering on January 13, 2022, and should make the wait for the game a little easier.
