Suicide Squad Game To Be Delayed Into 2023

According to a report from Bloomberg, Warner Bros. has decided to quietly delay the anticipated new game from the Batman: Arkham team, Rocksteady,  Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League out of 2022 and into the 2023 timeslot. This news comes courtesy of reporter Jason Schreier, who cites sources close to the development of the game.

No official reason was given as to why the game is being delayed, with Warner bros. yet to make an official statement as to whether the game is being delayed or not. WarnerMedia’s chief executive officer Jason Kilar tweeted last week that the company will be releasing a “full slate of highly anticipated games” which included logos for the DC game Gotham Knights, and Wizarding World Title Hogwarts Legacy. Noticeably, this tweet did not feature the upcoming Suicide Squad game.

Hogwarts Legacy was itself rumored to be delayed until early next year, something that the company has adamantly denied, with the game being featured across multiple 2022 lists like the tweet above. If Suicide Squad is going to be delayed, it would make sense why the company was so quick to dismiss the rumor. Of course, this is all speculation until Warner Bros. gives an official word on the matter.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League was first announced in 2020 with a cinematic trailer. It then later resurfaced during the 2021 Video Game Awards, with an in-game trailer that showcased the multiple playable characters in action. When the game does release it will see players take on the roles of several members of the group of expendable prisoners such as Harley Quinn, King Shark, Captain Boomerang, and Deadshot. It will feature them as Earth’s last line of defense against a Justice League that has been brainwashed by Brainiac.

It is currently slated to release on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, whenever the game does release.
