Sunset Overdrive has been rated for PC in Korea
It appears that Sunset Overdrive may finally find its way to the PC as the Korean game rating board has rated the game for our platform. Although nothing is set on stone yet, these ratings are really trustworthy so we can assume that Sunset Overdrive PC will be revealed at E3 2018.
Set in Sunset City, the player must survive a colourful, punk rock zombie apocalypse after soft drink company FizzCo launches its latest drink; OverCharge Delirium XT.
Development on Sunset Overdrive began in 2010 and was revealed at E3 2013. Insomniac partnered with Microsoft on the game who helped fund it but allowed Insomniac to retain the rights.
Insomniac is better known for working with Sony on PlayStationtitles but worked with Microsoft on Sunset Overdriveafter Resistance 3 was completed.
Given that Microsoft helped fund Sunset Overdrive and its push for Xbox Play Anywhere, it’s likely that Sunset Overdrive is being released on PC as an Xbox Play Anywhere title.
The applicant for the game rating was Korea Microsoft Corporation and was rated for 12-15-year-olds in South Korea today, May 23, 2018.
Sunset Overdrive is available now for Xbox One. It looks likely that a PC release will be announced shortly.
However, the studio might have changed its mind and we might be seeing Xbox One X enhancements coming to the game along with the PC version’s release.
Insomniac Games is the same developer working on the upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive, Spiderman PS4, and the devs have revealed that Spider-Man’s game world is “several times larger” than Sunset Overdrive’s Sunset City.
Also, Insomniac Games has revealed that the upcoming PlayStation 4 game will not be an origin story. Peter Parker will be 23 years old in the game and has been fighting crime in the game for 8 years.
Sunset Overdrive is an open-world action shooter developed by Insomniac Games exclusively for Xbox One.
