Super Mario 3D All-Stars Running on Emulators – Rumor

According to reports, the limited-time release of Super Mario 3D All-Stars is running on emulators. The information comes from dataminer OatmealDome.

Disclaimer – This information has not been verified, therefore this is not factual.

OatmealDome information might confirm that Nintendo can release more N64, GameCube, and Wii games for Nintendo Switch at will. However, if OatmealDome proves that Nintendo is actually using emulators, it will also be confirmed that Mario’s 35 birthday wasn’t so special after all.

The allegedly big project from Nintendo for the special anniversary of the most important video games franchise was Super Mario 3D All-Stars. Is indispensable to mention that players have been amazed by great remakes and reboots, Final Fantasy VII: Remake, Resident Evil 2: Remake, and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1-2 are the perfect examples. However, Nintendo opted to make “remasters” instead of making a remakes.

In addition to having higher resolutions than their original versions, the games have been optimized for a smooth gameplay experience on Nintendo Switch. Super Mario 3D All-Stars also includes an in-game music-player mode to play the music and songs from all three games.

What’s harsh for fans of the franchise is the fact that Nintendo actually did not invest any resources on paying a homage to the franchise that led Nintendo to be an unbeatable force in the industry. Basically, dataminers like OatmealDome proves that Nintendo can optimize any game in the same way that emulators have done it on PC.

Games like Super Mario Maker, and Mario Kart: Home Circuit, created a new way for players to interact with the game, but it also serves to showcase the dissinterest that Nintendo is expressing when it comes to big AAA projects for Mario.

Adding salt to injury, Nintendo released Super Mario 3D All-Stars as a limited time offer, the game will be sold until March 31, 2021.
