Nintendo has announced that it will be bringing a version of hit Wii U game Super Mario Maker to the Nintendo 3DS.
The new release will be focused on bringing players together with local friends, allowing you to share courses via wireless and including most of the courses from the original Wii U release.
Feeling creative on a long road trip? Bored on the bus? You can purchase the game on the 3DS and customize some levels to your liking.
Also, if you’ve already put in countless hours into the Wii U version, worry not: All of your saved data, including levels you’ve created, levels you’ve downloaded, and the rest of your progress, will be accessible on the 3DS version.
Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS will be released Dec. 2, 2016 in North America and Europe.
Check out the Trailer:
“Players will be able to share their Mario creations via local wireless and StreetPass, but players won’t be able to upload them to the internet for others to play.
Nintendo says that Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS will support levels originally created on Wii U, though the company warned that not all levels will be compatible with the portable version. Some features, like the Mystery Mushroom, are apparently exclusive to the Wii U version of Super Mario Maker.”
