Well, another week brings another rumor of the fabled Nintendo Switch Pro getting announced. This is not the first time that the Switch Pro has been announced, however it is hopefully the moment we have been waiting for.

Nick “Shpeshal Nick” Baker, Co-founder of Xboxera.com, took to Twitter to say that he is currently hearing the announcement of the upgraded switch is set for this Thursday.
He ends his tweet by pointing out that the reveal “But it’s been pushed before, could be again.” However, that is not technically accurate. While rumbles about the existence have persisted over the last two years Nintendo has been relatively quiet on the subject. Industry insiders have offered plenty of suggestions as to when Nintendo might make the announcement but so far there has never officially been a window as to when they will.
Last week we reported on the claim that the announcement could occur as early as Friday. That story, first reported by Jason Schreier, also seemed very credible at the time. Last year was also filled with credible sources claiming that the reveal was imminent, all turned out to be inaccurate as well.
Based on the conversation it is not likely that this upgrade doesn’t exist. It fits with Nintendo’s usual strategy of upgrading their console a few years on and there are just too many smart people talking about it. Not to mention Nintendo has never denied its existence. The question is WHEN, not IF, we are going to see it.
Currently anticipation is mounting for its reveal thanks to the upcoming E3. The train of thought right now is that by showcasing the system prior to the event they will use their time during E3 focusing on games that take advantage of it. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild 2 is not only expected to be there, but stand as a showcase of the new power, similar to how the original was for the Switch. This is only if the pieces hit together as suggested.
Despite my skepticism, I really hope this new date turns out to be true. We will however once again need to wait and see. One thing is for sure though, How great would it be if it was called the ‘Super Nintendo Switch’?
