Nintendo found on COVID-19 an almost impossible obstacle to surpass in order to meet their ambitions,

but the latest information from insiders suggest that the worst has been put in the past, and Nintendo has ordered their manufactures to ramp up production by a 10 percent.

While information directly from Nintendo’s HQ sounds great for the future of the company, there are other indicatives that shows that Nintendo’s aim for portable gaming might not be enough in order to compete with the next-gen consoles. Surely, next gen consoles might have a slow start due to COVID-19 and while truly next gen games arrive, some fans fears that if Nintendo does not designs an enhanced, more powerful version of the Switch, they may be crushed by Sony.

There is also the lack of a streaming service from Nintendo may cost them troubles later on suggest by the financial times. Xbox Boss Phil Spencer also stated he is not worried by either Sony or Nintendo, he sees the future of the gaming industry taken by either one of Xbox, Google or Amazon.

Nintendo boss Shuntaro Furukawa has suggested that Switch’s niche market allows Nintendo to not worry about what’s being done at Xbox and Sony.
