Symmetra is an incredible asset to any team if you know how to use her. Now you can spend a good chunk of each game trying to find the teleporter but for those who are playing as her instead if against her, she’s a great character. Now, she is getting a buff that will include a second ultimate ability that can be chosen when the ult meter reaches 100% in an upcoming Overwatch update.
This new power has Symmetra planting said generator which grants a significant protective shield to all teammates in the immediate vicinity.
Players can still opt for Symmetra’s old teleporter ultimate and they’ll always have a choice of which ultimate to deploy when their meter is full.
Furthermore, the teleporter will have more HP than it did in the past, with a stronger shield. As such, the opposing team will have to make a more concerted effort to destroy Symmetra’s erected unit.
Since Symmetra now has a shield generator, she doesn’t need her regular shield anymore, so that ability is being replaced with a new power called Photon Barrier, which is a projected barrier that moves along a trajectory.
She’ll also be able to deploy six turrets at once, whereas before she could only plant these in sets of three.
Check out the Video:
“More health was also added to the Teleporter and some of it is shield health which will help teammates regenerate.
Her shields are also being revamped in order to be a more “fun element instead of a chore.” This new element is called Photon Barrier and it is replacing her shields. It will be similar to Reinhardt’s or Winston’s but is instead projected on a track of movement.
Sentry Turret changes are also in the works, and will allow Symmetra to start with six rather than three which is current. Each will also regenerate in ten seconds instead of 12 seconds which is the current regen time.
Primary fire and secondary fire will stay the same with one exception: her primary fire has more range. The laser distance is only slight, but should help matters.”
