Team Sonic Racing has seen some big sales in the UK as it currently is at the top of UK’s boxed charts.
That’s right, during the week of May 25th, Team Sonic Racing topped the All Formats Chart which is more than double for the previous Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed. As a bonus, this is the first time a Sonic game has been in the top of these charts since 2008 with Mario & Sonic at the Olympic games released. Additionally, the game did best on the PlayStation 4 version which outsells the Nintendo Switch version. This reason is currently unknown, but it would seem that there are some more Sonic fans for the PlayStation 4.
As it goes on the UKIE/GfK Top Ten for the week of May 25th, in first place is Team Sonic Racing, then Days Gone, FIFA 19, Rage 2, Red dead Redemption 2, Tom Clancy’s The Divison 2, Mortal Kombat 11, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Grand Theft Auto V, Forza Horizon 4.
The previous week, Rage 2 was in 4th place as the game has seen a decline in sales. Days Gone and FIFA 19 have also seen some small declines but maintain their positions on the UK charts. Also to note, Assassin’s Creed III Remastered reached the 15th spot on the list due to the rise of the Nintendo Switch’s version. Meaning that a new console release will definitely win players over.
Well now it Sonic Fans should feel happy that Team Sonic Racing has been on the top of the charts for last week. Maybe now we’ll see a big resurgence of some new Sonic games in the coming months. Hopefully Sega and Sumo Digital will have something to say about future sonic games in E3 2019. Overall, this is a huge success for the Sonic series overall since a new and improved racing game might be just what people need for 2019.
