Team17 Announces Yooka-Laylee Sequel For 2019 Release

Platformer fans will be delighted to know that a new Yooka-Laylee title is in the works and is planned for 2019. Publisher Team 17 along with developers Playtonic are working on the recently announced sequel titled Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair.

Check out the new announcement trailer for the Yooka-Laylee sequel below:

The new title will combine a 3D overview world with 2.5D chapter levels. Of course, there will be plenty of platforming challenges and puzzles to solve in both styles of perspectives in the adventure.

Here’s a quick summary of the game from publisher Team17:

In this new platforming adventure hybrid, Yooka and Laylee must combine their abilities to take on a series of challenging and vibrant 2.5D levels and explore and solve puzzles in a beautiful 3D overworld. It’s on them to rescue Queen Phoebee’s Royal Beettalion Guard from each level, as they size up Capital B’s most dastardly challenge yet—the Impossible Lair.

Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair is set to release this year both in physical and digital forms for the PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC. We can also expect more details to be revealed, including an exact release date during next week’s E3 event.
