The Dark Pictures: The Devil In Me Trademark Leaks

Trademarking is such a weird beast, especially for video games. You want to keep your project a secret to reveal them in some interesting way to your fans. Before you can do that however you need to trademark your game, which basically forces you to tell them your title. The Dark Pictures Anthology game set to follow the upcoming one in the series seems to be a victim of this process as we now have a name to work with thanks to Justia Trademarks.

The fourth title overall in Supermassive Games’ ongoing series, the next entry appears to be titled The Dark Pictures: The Devil In Me. This is, of course, not to be confused with the recently released film The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It, but I could understand any confusion.

Trademarking the name now makes sense, in no small part due to the upcoming The Dark Pictures: House of Ashes set to release October 22nd of this year. Similar to the first two games in the series, it would be expected to see some sort of minor teaser for the next game in the series. Now fans do not have to wait to get excited about the future of the franchise.

There is no connection between any of the games, offering differing horror experiences under one label.  The first game, Man of Medan, which was released in 2019 featured a group of people finding a ghost ship in the middle of the ocean. In the second game, Little Hope players find themselves stuck in the aforementioned ghost town of Little Hope. The third game, House of Ashes, will be set in 2003 during the Iraq war as a group of soldiers head into a subterranean temple.

We can most likely expect The Devil In Me to be officially revealed at the end of House of Ashes later this year.
