Tom Clancy’s The Division, Ubisoft’s brand new IP that launched at 2016, was one of the company’s successful ones during the current generation along with Watch Dogs. Earlier this year in March, Ubisoft released The Division 2 which undeniably represented many improvements compared to the first entry of the series. Now that Ubisoft is pretty sure about continuing the new IP, they might make a left turn and focus more on a single-player story-driven game of the franchise. At least that’s what fans are asking for right now, regarding lack of an engaging story in both titles of The Division.
A few days ago, level designer at TT Games, the team behind LEGO game series, tweeted about his intention on getting a single-player story-focused title for The Division series and mentioned Julian Gerighty, director of The Division 2. Soon after the tweet posted, Gerighty retweeted Tim Spencer’s tweet and asked fans about their opinion on the idea, which could be a slight green light on a narrative-driven spin-off of the series.
If you ask me, the series definitely has the potential to tell an engaging and captivating story within the world that has been created through the last two entries. However, a single-player spin-off could never bring the revenue that a multiplayer title delivers for Ubisoft. What’s your idea about the next game in the series? Don’t hesitate to tell us about it in the comments.
