The Medium Gameplay Showcased in New Trailer

Bloober Team has just revealed an extended gameplay trailer for its psychological horror game The Medium. The gameplay showcase features the unsettling environment running on Xbox Series X.

The Medium takes place on a creepy journey across the world of the living and the afterlife. Check the gameplay trailer here:

Take an extended look at the gameplay of The Medium, a one of its kind horror game where you can play in the real world and the spirit world at the same time. Travel to an abandoned and haunted hotel resort to discover a mystery only a medium can solve.

As seen on the gameplay trailer, players can venture into both realities using a split-screen gameplay system, Marianne, also known as the medium can sense the dangers and the evil presence known as The Maw. This malevolent entity can travel between reality and manifests itself as a blind invisible foe that stacks the medium.

In a previous trailer, the development team elaborated on how exactly a player can use the medium’s gifts to jump between realities and solve certain puzzles. Some levels will require the player to simultaneously complete tasks in both realities.

The Medium

was originally scheduled to launch on PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U in 2012, but the project was extensively overhauled and was pushed back to the following generation of consoles. The ambition of the Polish studio led to several delays and the game turned out to be an Xbox Series X|S and PC game.

Taking the inspiration of Konami’s Silent Hill, Bloober Team hired Akira Yamaoka who produced the music for Silent Hill, Shadow of the Damned. The Medium will launch on Xbox Series X|S on January 28. PC players can also get the game via Steam and Epic Games Store at launch.
