The New Xbox Experience is Now Live on Xbox One

Xbox has just released the new Xbox Experience user interface update for Xbox One. The new update is very lightweight taking just 660mb to download and install.

As confirmed by Chris Novak, Head of Xbox Research and Design, Microsoft has designed a unified Xbox Experience to put gamers at the center, enabling them to stay connected to their games, friends, and communities. “It’s a vision we have been building toward for over a year, culminating with the release of Xbox Series X this November.” The executive affirms in a blog post.

Launched first for insiders, the new update includes several improvements such as changes like a new landing page for the Xbox Guide, to smaller, more subtle improvements like individual volume sliders for party members.

Xbox is designing a new, connected ecosystem across devices that lets you play the way you want to play — launching with the Xbox Series X. Whichever device you’re using, Xbox aspires to deliver an amazing experience – one which keeps you connected to games and friends throughout your day. This new user experience will be effortless to navigate, accessible and inclusive for all gamers. You’ll spend less time waiting, more time playing, and you’ll always be connected.

To improve ease of use, Xbox revisited and refined a few features and functionalities:

  • With the redesigned search functionality, it’s easier to filter your results.
  • Guided by your feedback, we rebuilt the Wish List. You can now easily add new games to your Wish List and quickly check your list content (including keeping tabs on any sale pricing for your Wish List items).
  • The updated shopping cart makes it easier to add items to your cart as well as view the items in your cart before and during purchase.
  • We’ve also made it easier than ever to shop across four generations of great Xbox content by enabling customers to view pricing while browsing for new Xbox One games and backward compatible Xbox 360 and original Xbox titles, as well as add these games to your Wish List or shopping cart.

The most noticeable change in functionality comes in how the player manages game installs, there is a new layout for the ‘Manage game and add-ons’ functionality of Xbox One.
