The team behind The Outer Worlds still hasn’t done with the upcoming RPG yet, but it seems their future plans have been drawn already as they are hiring for their next project which is an RPG again.
During The Game Awards 2018, Obsidian entertainment officially revealed The Outer Worlds as their new title after launching Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire. Now, we are almost standing 4 months ahead of the release date for The Outer Worlds and some might ask what the studio is going to do after that? Well, the question is already answered. Another RPG is on the way from Obsidian Entertainment and it’s probably in the early stages of development process right now, since the team is looking for a talented narrative designer to shape up the story for the new project.
According to Obsidian’s Twitter account and Job listing, the new RPG game is under development and as the website has revealed, it will be multi-platform. We know that Obsidian is currently a first-party studio for Microsoft and The Outer Worlds will be released as a multi-platform title to respect the studio’s decision that was taken before getting under the wing of Microsoft, but why the new project is also a multi-platform? Well, this time around, being multi-platform presumably refers to PC and Xbox with no PlayStation amongst the options, but still we need to hear a full clarification on this matter.
Obsidian’s The Outer Worlds is going to be pretty different compared to their last two titles that was focused on isometric RPG. Its yet to be known whether the new title will continue in the genre of Fallout: New Vegas and The Outer Worlds or the studio have something new in mind to live out this time.
The Outer Worlds is poised to release on October 25 for PS4, Xbox One and PC via Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store.
