The Surge 2: The Kraken Expansion Coming Next Week

‘The Kraken’ expansion is coming to The Surge 2 on January 16, 2020, alongside the Premium Edition for The Surge 2 Premium Edition.

A teaser trailer for ‘The Kraken’ was also released today, January 8, 2020, providing “a glimpse of the retro-themed suburban environments [players will] soon be exploring.”

The expansion brings with it a brand-new storyline and location. In addition, gamers will have access to new weapons, implants, and armor that they can either discover throughout the game world or craft. “On the outskirts of Jericho City, enter the VBS Krakow, a massive decommissioned aircraft carrier retrofitted as a retreat for the rich and famous. Battle robot pirates, deranged security systems, and an imposing new boss, each with their own unique combat mechanics.”

Moreover, The Surge 2 Premium Edition will also launch on January 16, 2020, which includes all The Surge 2 DLC, such as ‘The Kraken’ expansion, URBN Gear Pack, the Public Enemy Weapon Pack, and the Jericho’s Legacy Gear Pack.

Owners of The Surge 2 Season Pass will also get 48 hours of early access to ‘The Kraken’ expansion, allowing them to begin playing on January 14, 2020.

The Surge 2 is an action role-playing video game that released on September 24, 2019 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It is a sequel to 2017’s The Surge and is developed by Deck13 and published by Focus Home Interactive. The game received generally favorable reviews. Similar to the Dark Souls series, The Surge 2 forces players to navigate the game world without indicators telling them the right direction, and enemies respawn when players enter rest zones (medical bays) to recover health and adjust their equipment.

The game is set in a dystopian future where humans have exhausted the world’s resources.
