THQ Nordic Acquired Gunfire Games, the Studio Behind Darksiders 3

Once upon a time in video game industry, THQ was one of the successful publishers with a bunch of valuable franchises being developed in its first-party studios. However, things went south and the company faces with bankrupty. After a while, THQ and Nordic Games joined forces together under the name of THQ Nordic and up until now, they are growing more and more by acquiring indie developers and small studios. Gunfire Games, the team behind Darksiders 3 and Remnant: From the Ashes, is the company’s new acquisition.

According to the company’s latest press release, which confirmed Saints Row 5 from Volition, THQ Nordic has acquired three new teams. In addition to Gunfire Games, the company has also added Milestone and Kansas Game Invest. With the former being the studio behind Ride series and the latter being an investment company with five studios.

THQ Nordic will make an appearance at Gamescom 2019 and Opening Night Live next week. Most recently, the company has shared its list of livestreams from August 20 to August 24 at Cologne, Germany featuring 13 different games.
