is a newly founded studio by former Respawn Entertainment developers Drew McCoy and Jon Shiring, the new studio will work on a new AAA project. The studio is located in Los Angeles, and its currently hiring designers, writers, animators and managers, all the positions are being offered with a remote work policy.
Gravity Well will have an anti-crunch policy, and according to Drew McCoy, the team’s health will be a priority. He promises good compensation and creative freedom, the studio will work as a team, this means that employees will have a vote when it comes to the decision making.
Hi! I’m Drew… We are starting a studio because of how we want to make games. We want time to iterate on everything and get ideas and feedback from the whole team. We’re building this studio to last for decades, and that doesn’t happen without putting the team first.
We prefer to cut and focus down so we only ship what we love.
McCoy will give the team at Gravity Well vast amounts of experience, he produced Titafall and was also credited as the Executive Producer of Apex Legends. He leaves Respawn Entertainment after 14 years of hard work. Jon ‘Slothy’ Shiring joined on his new adventure, he is an experienced developer responsible for the launch, net code, servers, and online services for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 2, Titanfall, and Apex Legends.
Okay, Slothy here.
We aren’t satisfied with the low level of creative risk that gets project funding these days. We want to explore bold new ideas exclusively for next-gen hardware and PCs.
Given the COVID-19 pandemic, we’re starting the studio for remote work from the very start. Since one of the core values of Gravity Well is increased diversity, we’re excited about not being hamstrung by relocation or work visa issues.
