With Nintendo Direct making its appearance at E3 this year, almost anything is bound to be announced. From Smash Bros DLC characters to unannounced Kirby games, here is our 5 Predictions and 5 Things we wish to see from Nintendo Direct E3 2019.
Starting off with our top five realistic predictions we have of games that we definitely think will be at this year’s Nintendo’s E3 2019 Ninendo Direct Presentation based off past information.
It’s been two years since Nintendo announced Bayonetta 3 for the Nintendo Switch. After the release of Bayonetta 2 for the Wii U, we would probably expect some news of the game’s sequel. Well as things have gone silent from PlatinumGames, the Studio Head, Atsushi Inaba has recently revealed during an interview with VGC that, “With Bayonetta 1 and 2 we had basically an orthodox development process, at least for us. We did stage one, then stage two, then stage three and built up the drama and the pacing chronologically. For Bayonetta 3, we can say that we learned enough from making the past two games to change our process in a way that’s different to what I just described.”
Well what are these changes to the game’s development, will the game still be as action-packed and climactic as the games before? Hopefully Nintendo will make some announcements about this for E3.
TOWN (working title) is a turn-based RPG that Game Freak is making. The village has known “lasting peace” until some new monsters have appeared. Now hero and the rest of the villagers must work together in order to protect their home. The last time the game was announced was during September of last year, that’s a long time to not release news about your new IP that’s set to release in 2019.
Well last week, programmer and director Masayuki Onou has stated that Game Freak is trying to create something that is possibly “more exciting than Pokemon.” This basically tells us that whatever TOWN turns out to be, it will be highly ambitious.
Smash Bros. Ultimate is one of the most successful games of the entire series as the newest game added every single character from the previous titles plus more. Well now there will be a new set of characters that will be joining the fray.
Nintendo announced that the Fighters Pass for the game will include 5 challenger packs that will include a new character per pack. The first of the packs was announced to be Joker from Persona 5. The rest have yet to be revealed however fans are wondering about who will be the next to be released. Almost anything is on the table as the characters don’t necessarily have to be available on the Nintendo Switch to join in on the fight. So who is next? We’ll just have to wait and see.
Animal Crossing 2019 has been on everybody’s radar ever since Isabelle’s announcement as a fighter for Smash Bros Ultimate. Since Animal Crossing New Leaf is popular among fans, they’ve been wondering when an Animal Crossing for the Nintendo Switch will become available. The new console packs some serious power which is way better than what the 3DS had to offer. So naturally a new Animal Crossing for the Switch would make sense for an overall upgrade.
So far Nintendo’s been quiet on this future release, but one thing’s for sure that Nintendo will probably have something to say about it this E3.
The Nintendo Switch is definitely capable of streaming games. In Japan using a Taiwanese company, Ubitus’ Gamecloud streaming technology Switch Owners have a chance to play Assassin’s Creed Oddyssey and Resident Evil 7, two AAA games that would otherwise be unplayable on the Switch.
Now that Microsoft and Sony made a partnership in order to improve on their own streaming services and Google Stadia taking a crack at Cloud gaming, Nintendo would more than likely have something Streaming-wise for the system worldwide. Maybe players will finally be able to play games like Grand Theft Auto V or even past titles this way as well.
Now is the list that we hope to see from Nintendo During E3 2019.
With the release of Joker, for Smash Bros. Ultimate, fans of the Persona series are probably thinking that Nintendo will add the past Persona games to the Switch. If not the series then maybe at least Persona 5 would be announced sometime. Well it would seem that Persona 5 Scramble would be enough to justify Joker’s crossover, but the fact that Persona 5: The Royal isn’t announced for the Switch is troubling.
Maybe Atlus is waiting for the right time to make the official announcement in the future for any Persona-related releases on the Nintendo platform so who knows?
Now that the Wii U is definitely out of the picture, it would be natural for Nintendo to port those games to the Switch right? Well that’s simply not the case right now. Games like the Wonderful 101 and Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE are some of the more interesting and unique games to come from the now previous-generation console.
More importantly, Bayonetta 2 is currently on the Wii U in which there’s no other way to play it. Now this obviously means that Bayonetta has a chance to be released on the current-gen console, but what about the other games? Will they ever come out of the Wii U limbo? We can only hope.
Kirby Star Allies released in March 2018 that features everyone’s favorite little pink ball. In this game, you had the ability to make enemies your friend to help you the fight against evil. The game has seen some success with continued DLC that added new characters to join Kirby’s Adventures.
Well it would seem that Star Allies is done getting DLC since the 3rd wave in November 2018. In this case it would make sense for Nintendo to announce something new for our pink little copycat. So what would the next Kirby game be? Would there be another side-scrolling co-op adventure or will there be another Kirby Air Ride in the future? Maybe Nintendo will finally make way for Kirby in 2019.
Pikmin 4 is in development and is “very close to completion” says Shigeru Miyamoto in 2015. Well it’s about 4 years later, and still no Pikmin. The last full game that was released was Pikmin Lift-Off for the 3DS in 2017. Before that was Pikmin 3 in 2013, which is the last time the official Pikmin gameplay was used. Now it seems that Pikmin 4 will never come out. There is hope however that this unique puzzle/strategy/adventure game will get a surprise announcement at E3, so keep your fingers crossed!
Mario Odyssey came out for the Nintendo Switch in October 2017. It featured our favorite Itallian plumber going on an entirely new adventure around the world. Well now that the game’s been out for quite a while, it would make sense that Nintendo is making another one right under our noses. Since the release dates of Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2 were only three years apart from each-other this could be the case.
Now is Nintendo actually making a new Super Mario game for the Switch, or are they biding their time for another Mario release? If anything, we can expect some sort of announcement this year.
Well that’s all we have for our Realistic Predicitons and Wishlist for Nintendo’s E3 2019 news. This has been Gamin Instincts TV, and I’ll see you soon.
Includes several titles.
