A new Turok game is coming out in 2019 in probably the most unexpected way possible. As a cute grid adventure where Turok and his friend must escape Lost Valley while fighting all of the cute Dinosaurs and tribesmen.
The new game was published by Universal Studios while being developed by Pillow Pig Games. They portray the adventures of Turok as a cute adventure that uses strategy and skill rather than Turok’s original FPS beginnings on the Nintendo 64 in 1997.
The game first spawned out of a Universal GameDev Challenge where developers were challenged to design a game for Back to the Future, Jaws, Battlestar Galactica, Voltron, or Turok. Pillow Pig Games then developed the new cutesy Turok game in order to bring it back on the market.
Unfortunately for Pillow Pig Games, they did not win the contest, instead Voltron: Cubes of Olkarion. Of course it would seem that Universal decided to publish the game anyway with a full release coming in July 25th.
The trailer can be seen here:
It would seem that previous fans of the game aren’t exactly happy that this is the new step for where Turok would be going, and it is indeed very different. Well, there are some new changes coming to this reimagining of Turok I suppose as you dodge enemies, and use several familiar weapons (not guns) in order to take out the horde of dinosaurs.
The game is coming to PC on July 25.
