A week or so ago, a Microsoft store page popped up for Two Point Campus, The sequel to Two Point Hospital. It was quickly removed from said store, but my excitement had already been intensified. Finally, Two Point Campus has officially confirmed during the Summer Game Fest Live! event, hosted by Geoff Keighley.
Showing off the game we got to see what the bizarre developers at Two Point Studio had envisioned for life on a modern campus. There are the college kids you might expect such as your jocks, geeks, and preppy young adults, however, the game also throws knights, wizards, and a lot more into the mix. In all honesty, it reminded me a lot of the webcomic series, Dumbing of Age.
Similar to the first game, you do not take the role of any of these students, you take the role of the head of the university. Expanding your campus with play a big part when it comes to attracting students, as will planning your University’s course structure and curriculum.
Two Point Studio was founded back in 2016 by Ben Hymers, Mark Webley, and Gary Carr. The latter of the two, while working at Bullfrog Games, helped Develop popular management sims Theme Park and Theme Hospital, of which Two Point Hospital is a spiritual successor.
While Two Point Studios only has one game to its name so far, it created a genuinely fun management sim in Two Point Hospital and has continued to support the game even now. A free Sonic-themed update is planned for Two Point hospital which will include costumes and decor.
Two Point Campus is currently slated for a 2022 release date. It will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC.
