Ubisoft + To Be Included in Xbox Game Pass Affirms Journalist

According to information shared by Windows Central’s editor, Jez Corden, Ubisoft and Microsoft could be close to reaching an agreement that will see Ubisoft + being included in Xbox Game Pass.

Corden, who has a solid reputation for sharing accurate information related to Microsoft said on Twitter:

I’ve seen rumours about Ubisoft Uplay+ joining Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. I think this has a strong chance of being true, based on stuff I’ve heard.

I imagine it would be a vault or smaller slice of older games, but crazier things have happened. I always thought EA Play would be an extra tier of Game Pass, but they just rolled that bad boy right in. Guess we’ll see.”

Information about the possible inclusion of the publisher’s subscription-based service was first shared on Twitter by an anonymous user who claimed that Xbox has 10 huge surprises to reveal in 2021.

Ubisoft + was announced on October 27, the service aims to integrate Google Stadia and Amazon Luna. If Xbox manages to integrate all those services into Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Phil Spencer and its team will be closer to the goal of reaching the 2.8 billion players around the world.

Here is the official description of Ubisoft +:

Subscribers on PC will still get unlimited access to a growing library of more than 100 games for $14.99 per month, including premium editions* and upcoming releases like Watch Dogs: Legion, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, andImmortals Fenyx Rising.

Once Ubisoft+ subscribers request and receive an invitation to the Amazon Luna service and link their accounts, they will have access to Ubisoft games on Luna at no additional fee beyond their original $14.99 subscription during the beta. By the end of the year, subscribers will also be able to access Ubisoft games on Stadia with the same subscription. Stadia Pro will not be required, so subscribers can sign up with the free version of Stadia.

Ubisoft +

is only available on PC and cloud gaming platforms, it’s safe to assume that Ubisoft is looking for a solid partner to deliver its service on consoles. Phil Spencer should be eager to strengthen the lineup of games available in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Similar to EA Play, the service could be bundled for free, as Spencer has recently claimed that the growth of Game Pass is “completely sustainable.
