announced on Thursday that they will be returning to E3 2021. Similarly to last year Ubisoft Forward, as there press event is called, will be digital only. This should not be a major surprise as even E3 has opted to be digital only, still concerned about potential health risks.

As for what we will see during their showcase, they have yet to specify. It stands to reason that Far cry 6, which recently showcased a new gameplay trailer, will be in attendance. Another Ubisoft game, their massively multiplayer extreme sports game, Riders Republic will probably showcase something as well.
Rainbow Six Siege was announced to be testing it’s cross play between PC and cloud. They have promised that both crossplay and crossprogression will be on the agenda. There is also the possibility that the Rainbow Six Quarantine will be shown as well. According to Ubisoft earlier in the year we can still expect the game in 2021 so it wouldn’t be advised for the game to skip.
Two games that have been absent for a while are Skull & Bones and Beyond Good And Evil 2. Skull & Bones has had a pretty steady development but seen a large amount of delays. During a media call it was stated that an internal change in the direction of the game has lead to these pushbacks. While it is slated for a 2022-2023 release window it would be a shame to not at least showcase this direction shift in some way.
Beyond Good And Evil 2 on the other hand is looking less likely to be ok. Michel Ancel left the project amid several allegations of abuse on his part, though he denies that was the reason he left. However even before that the project was suffering from clear over ambition and lack of direction. Ubisoft has not officially cancelled the project, though if it doesn’t show this year we can most likely consider it dead.
There is a possibility Ubisoft will show its upcoming movies as well. Previously it had announced the tv series Mystic Quest as well as its Assassins Creed film during these events. This year their big film would most likely be the adaptation of VR title Werewolves Within. They have also signed a deal for a Skull & Bones television series.
Ubisoft Forward will take place June 12 @ 12PM PT.
