Ubisoft revealed what are the next-gen upgrades on all of its new games, the company promises more realistic experiences and to”unleash the depth of Ubisoft’s worlds.”
Assasin’s Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6, Riders Republic, and Immortals Fenyx Rising will all support 4k resolution at FPS on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
The developer recently announced Ubisoft Connect, the fuse of Uplay and Ubisoft Clubs allows cross-platform and cross-progression for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 on Assasin’s Creed Valhalla and Immortals Fenyx Rising.
Ubisoft also confirmed that customers of Far Cry 6, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Watch Dogs: Legion, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Riders Republic, and Rainbow Six Siege will be able to upgrade the game to next-gen hardware for free.
Both Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 features its own spatial audio technology, only Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Immortals Fenyx Rising will be supporting the feature.
The PlayStation 5’s DualSense features haptic feedback, Ubisoft will only support the feature on Immortals Fenyx Rising and Watch Dogs: Legion. Ubisoft also confirmed that all the games will feature faster loading times thanks to faster SSDs.
Is important to mention that all of the games announced by Ubisoft are cross-gen titles, this means that even if the games are hardware demanding, they are not designed for next-gen hardware, for example, Xbox mentions that games like Assasin’s Creed Valhalla are optimized for Xbox Series X|S, the cautious choice of words is crucial to handle fans’ expectations.
Both, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 features not only a more powerful CPU and GPU, but the GDDR6 RAM is lightning fast when compared to the DDR4 RAM featured on PS4 and Xbox One. Features like asset streaming could not be supported on current-gen hardware, and therefore is crucial that Ubisoft fans keep realistic expectations on the games before mentioned.
