Ubisoft to Reveal Rainbow Six Siege Mobile In April

In a report for Exputer, industry insider Tom Henderson has claimed that Ubisoft will be revealing the launch of Rainbow Six Siege Mobile on April 6th. The new mobile game, which is being developed in collaboration with WeGame (Tencent) will reportedly debut with a video game trailer and coverage by the media. Details on the game are somewhat sparse at the moment, but more will be expected to be revealed on April 6th.

Lots of console and PC games have been making their way into the lucrative mobile market recently, and it seems that Ubisoft is eager to get a piece of the pie. Rumors of a Rainbow Six Siege mobile game have been floating around ever since Ubisoft Halifax sent a playtest survey out last year targeted at mobile users asking them how familiar they were with Rainbow Six Siege. Tencent also had their fourth quarterly earnings call yesterday, which provided additional hints. In a graphic shown during the call, “Projects with Ubisoft” was placed under the 2023 timeline, which suggests that the game could be released in 2023.

According to Henderson, Tencent will be working with Ubisoft closely over the coming years, with plans to bring more of Ubisoft’s IPs to mobile. Both Assassin’s Creed and The Division are both currently in development for mobile, Henderson claims.

Rainbow Six Siege has been a massive success for Ubisoft. Though it released in 2015 to mixed reviews, steady improvements and support over the years has vastly improved the game. Ubisoft reported in December 202o that over 70 million players had registered to play the game across all platforms. Ubisoft also released a Rainbow Six Siege spinoff earlier this year, Rainbow Six Extraction, that was basically a standalone version of an previous event in Siege. Our review of the game gave it an 8 out of 10.
