Uncharted 4 Receives Another Delay
With all of the hype surrounding the impending release of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and the great reception of the open beta, it is unfortunate to hear that the game is going to see yet another delay. Sony Computer Entertanment of America President and CEO Shawn Layden recently issued a press release stating that, in an effort to ensure that gamers across the globe can get this title at the same time, Uncharted 4’s release will be postponed by two weeks. He did reassure that the game is still on track for hitting gold status later this month and understands how this news may be disappointing for the many who are excited for the release. Here is what he had to say regarding the two delay:
We know this news might be disappointing, and we are sorry to have to make you wait a little longer to play Naughty Dog’s latest. The good news is that the game is phenomenal — we are fully confident that it will be worth the wait and the team at Naughty Dog is eager as ever for you to experience Nathan Drake’s final adventure.
It is hard to know whether or not these two extra weeks will be a huge factor in the game’s core development. Some veteran studios happen to do some of their best work at the very end, and Uncharted 4’s team is probably no exception. If any development house can polish a piece of software to a high mirror shine it is definitely the talented folks at Naughty Dog. As mentioned before, the beta was a pretty solid display of how great the multiplayer component could be in its final incarnation. Surely the wait has to be worth it.
