Unicorn Overlord Developer Ran Out Money During Development, Wont Be Coming to PC

In a recent interview with Destructoid, Unicorn Overlord producer Akiyasu Yamamoto stated that while Atlus wanted to release the title to PC, its deal with Vanillaware prevented it. This means like the developer’s other title, 13 Sentinels, the game is unlikely to launch on the platform anytime soon. “As a publisher, we would like to deliver it to PC users as well,” said Yamamoto, “but per our agreement with Vanillaware, we are only releasing it on consoles. In other words, there are no plans to port it to PC currently.” Additionally, Vanillaware CEO George Kamitani recently revealed that the developer “once again” ran out of funds while developing Unicorn Overlord. This likely means that the developer finished the project with its own funds, when funds from the publisher ran out.  Unicorn Overlord will launch today, March 8 worldwide for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. A demo is also available now. The game’s details via Atlus:Liberate your kingdom, reclaim your destiny. From the masterminds that brought 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim and Odin Sphere, ATLUS x Vanillaware presents the rebirth of tactical fantasy RPG.
