Unpacking

Unpacking tops 100,000 Sales In 10 Days

Indie darling Unpacking had managed to top 100,000 sales across all platforms, within 10 days of its release. This news was shared via Twitter by the games developer Witch Beam Games, who thanked their fans for helping them reach this milestone. The game was first released on November 2, 2021, and is currently Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X | S, as well as being accessible through Xbox Game Pass.

Unpacking takes the player on a journey through unseen characters’ lives with each level offering a different stage in that life’s journey based on where you are moving them into. The game acts as a puzzle-solver in each level by forcing the player to unpack the persons belonging and place them in the house, apartment, or dorms based on where they belong. It offers a genuine look into others’ lives as each item taken from a box can offer you a new perspective on the person you are helping move.

Earlier last month a hilarious story came out the younger players that had been playing the game could not figure out what a Nintendo Gamecube was and was placing it in kitchens, believing it was a cooking appliance. To be fair to those players it most certainly was a weird-looking game console even when it was released, however, I definitely felt my age after that.

For players looking for a zen puzzle-solver to break up the monotony of shooting, and looting, Unpacking is a game worth your time. You can also be sure that you are among good company as a lot of players have already made the jump into the moving business, as these sales numbers are extremely good for an indie title. According to their website, Witch Beam Studio is already working on another title, called TemPoPo.
