It was announced by 8 Bit Studios, that they have just released the SKARA – The Blade Remains Update 0.8.0 for its Free-to-Play Open Alpha. This third person melee action game has been developed for the last four years by this small team based in London and Barcelona, and it promises a challenging and furious gameplay with an innovative approach to Lore and player engagement.
Check out the update trailer of SKARA – The Blade Remains, showcasing the updates’ features:
“After the first two Skara global events, called “Cataclysm” and “Blut”, respectively, new players have climbed through the ladder to become the new Culture Leaders. Their stories have been registered in the Skara Wiki and in the Lore section of the game.
“Our Lore events are a successful way for players to earn rewards and to become immortalized in Skara’s lore forever!” explains Pablo Rodriguez, CEO of SKARA.
Lore event:
It has already started and it will follow nearly the same rewards structure as in the “Cataclysm” event that took place in February: there will be special rewards for the top 10 players in the event’s General Ranking and for the Top 1 in each Culture Ranking. The only exception is that every player participating will get a granted gift. The event will finish at 5pm CET next Monday the 15th May.
New map: Gâo-di – Temple of the Zem
After many iterations, we have come up with a new map setting that grants a really fun experience: set on the peak of a mountain, it has many bottlenecks, a completely new ambientation and its own special mechanics to redefine the way you play Skara. Its specific video can be watched here.
Progression rewards
It allows players to earn skin rewards for free as they gain experience. The first reward is given early and it will be easy to acquire, but players will have to fight more and more to unlock all of them. Reaching a certain level with a specific culture will also grant rewards.
Early Access Skin
The previous Early Access backers that acquired the different available packs will receive their promised reward: a limited-edition Early Access Skin called Vulkhän Skin, depending on their contribution. Its specific video can be watched here.
