Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth remaster or port in the works?

Square Enix released a very interesting teaser trailer today, revealing a project named Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth.

Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth has a lot of years since its release in 2006 for the Playstation Portable handheld console, and this teaser trailer could mean that the game is beign ported for the Playstation Vita. The new teaser trailer could also mean that Square Enix wants to publish the game for PC, or the new consoles and mobile devices – this could be a remastered version.

Currently, we don’t know if the game will be a remake, a remaster, or something different. We don’t even know in which console will be released. The released press release of the game doesn’t even have more information about it, only saying that further information will be revealed at a later time.

Something to take note though, is that the trailer mentions original characters designed by Kou and Yoh Yoshinari, and the original composer Motoi Sakuraba. The original voice of Lenneth Yumi Touma also appears in the teaser trailer.

Check out the Teaser:

Early this morning, the Japanese publisher released a teaser trailer for Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, catching all longtime fans (including myself) off guard. This is of course a franchise that hasn’t really been active for around a decade, unless you count the Japan exclusive mobile game.

Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth was of course the 2006 PlayStation Portable remake/remaster of the original PlayStation game. Here’s hoping we’re looking at a remaster or a remake of the classic JRPG, although considering where Square Enix is moving tri-Ace’s franchises, we could be in for a disappointing mobile announcement. Here’s hoping that isn’t the case.
