Valve Confirms Future Half-Life Projects

A new Half-Life: Alyx is arriving soon, but it doesn’t have the taste that previous entries had as  the game is VR exclusive, Valve’s Robin Walker while talking to Game Informer confirmed that Valve will continue to develop Half-Life games.

Half-Life means a lot to us, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to re-familiarize ourselves with its characters, setting, and mechanics. There are team members who have been at Valve since Half-Life 2, and quite a few who go back to the original Half-Life. There are also people on the team for whom Half-Life: Alyx is their first time working on this series at all – and many of them certainly hope it’s not the last. We absolutely see Half-Life: Alyx as our return to this world, not the end of it.

Valve’s return to the Half-Life universe that started it all was built from the ground up for virtual reality. VR was built to enable the gameplay that sits at the heart of Half-Life: Alyx.

Immerse yourself in deep environmental interactions, puzzle solving, world exploration, and visceral combat.

Lean to aim around a broken wall and under a Barnacle to make an impossible shot. Rummage through shelves to find a healing syringe and some shotgun shells. Manipulate tools to hack alien interfaces. Toss a bottle through a window to distract an enemy. Rip a Headcrab off your face and throw it out the window.

Valve knows that fans are demanding a Half-Life 3, Alyx might be a great game but it’s not what the fans where expecting all this years, surely would be a good game to wait a little more longer, even more now that there is confirmation that Valve will continue developing Half-Life games in the future.

Half-Life: Alyx launches on PC on March 23, are you excited about the launch of the game, or are you even more excited about a probable Half-Life 3 coming next? Let me know in the comment section below.
