Valve Index Is Coming As VR Headset of Half-Life Developers

From the beginning of Virtual Reality era in gaming industry, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and PS VR are dominating this particular section, but now it seems they have to compete with new brands to still remain among top three. Valve Index is one of the new competitors in VR category that finally we are able to see a sight of it on Steam’s official page for the headset.

Valve Index, which we assume is the final name of the headset, has been under development for a while with an expert team behind it, but finally it seems the time has come for Valve to unveil its latest hardware project in near future. While the official page offers no more information on Index, but rumors suggest we will get a full announcement two months later in May.

Valve Index is coming for gaming purposes and if the American company wants to make a strong debut, it has to prepare big exclusive contents like a VR edition of Half-Life series. However, we have no clue to prove these rumors and the only way leading to truth, is to wait for official announcement by Valve.

Valve is currently focused on HTC Vive, as its main hardware in its software contents for Virtual Reality platforms, but with Index on the way, Valve will have its own headset to work on.

We will update you on Valve Index as we get new details on it. For more news from the industry, follow Gaming Instincts on Twitter.
