Publisher Akupara Games has announced a new VR survival horror game called Hello Cruel World. The game will launch for PC via Steam and VR platforms sometime in 2024. A reveal trailer was also released. In the game, players control a streamer egged on by their chat to explore an abandoned location haunted by a malicious AI.
The game’s full details via the publisher:
It’s just another day of you, your trusty stream chat, and a nightmarish AI torture-testing you to see when you’ll break.
It was supposed to be simple. The Crab n’ Grab, a trashy seafood restaurant a thousand miles from the sea. But your chat kept telling you to take a look. That something more is brewing underneath the surface. That there’s something “there” there. And after all, isn’t it your job to dive headfirst into danger? Isn’t that the thrill?
How thrilling do you find the skittering of ticker-taps of robotic legs on concreate? What about the voice coming over the loudspeaker? That’s not a person. That’s something else. And she’s testing you. She wants to know how smart you are. How clever. How high your pain tolerance is. How much you can take before you break.
Hello Cruel World puts your ingenuity to the test. Think fast, think on your feet, and think outside the box. Designed from the ground up to take advantage of virtual reality’s interactive capability, Hello Cruel World asks you: just how far are you willing to go?
Key Features
Product Testing -Probing the limits of human pain receptors and cybernetic grafts may sound difficult– and it is! But you’re the exception that proves the rule, aren’t you?
Real-time Simulated Chat – Even down here, there’s wifi. And that means everyone you’re livestreaming to gets a front row seat to your death-defying depravity, delving deeper and deeper into the facility, helping you out along the way.
No Limits Research -Only the unhindered scientific mind can crack open the nature of the universe. Let’s not let empathy or ethics get in the way of true, unmitigated progress.
A Constant Companion – ALICE watches over your every decision, your every move. Is it possible to escape the labyrinth with the minotaur looking over your shoulder? Or can you outsmart her robotic thought processes and slip through her fingers?
