It was announced by 11 bit Studios, that they are releasing the Anniversary Edition of this War of Mine; a complete retail package with new characters, new locations to explore, and most importantly, a whole new ending. This content will also be made available completely free as DLC to owners of the base game.
Check out the launch trailer of This War of mine Anniversary Edition, showcasing various gamers reactions to the game and the DLC features:
“We released This War of Mine two years ago, and the response immediately turned our world as a studio upside down. That success has given our company amazing opportunities to grow and explore new projects, such as Frostpunk, and that’s only possible because of the people who believed in This War of Mine in the first place.
The Anniversary Edition DLC is available now on Games Republic and Steam, with additional platforms to follow.
In the 21st century one thing is inevitable. War can break out anytime, anywhere. And if your city gets under siege, be sure you were not prepared for it.
THE REAL FACE OF WAR. SEE IT FROM PERSPECTIVE OF CIVILIANS.
In This War of Mine for the first time you do not play as an elite soldier, but a group of civilians trying to survive in a besieged city; struggling with lack of necessities and constant danger.
HIDE DURING THE DAY. LEAVE ONLY WHEN NIGHT COVERS YOU.
During the day snipers outside stop you from leaving your refuge, so you need to focus on maintaining your hideout. At night, take one of your civilians on a mission to scavenge for items that will help you stay alive.
MAKE LIFE-AND-DEATH DECISIONS. FACE THE CONSEQUENCES.
Make life-and-death decisions driven by your conscience. Try to protect everybody from your shelter. During war, there are no good or bad decisions; there is only survival. The sooner you realize that, the better.”
