Warzone Bans Carry Over To Vanguard

New reports have been coming out stating that players that engaged in bannable offenses in Call of Duty: Warzone, then should not be preparing to play the latest game in the franchise Call of Duty: Vanguard after it launches later this year. This is because bans from Warzone will carry over.

Screenshots have begun cropping up over the internet, as well as discord servers that deal in cheating, showcasing players being unable to connect to Vanguard due to bans they have accrued. CharlieIntel has independently confirmed that the bans will carry over between the games.

Raven Software, the lead developer of Warzone, recently came forward to also announce that this is indeed the case. This is because the company not only issues account bans for cheats, but hardware bans as well as an added layer to deter cheating. This keeps players from creating new accounts to get around the bans as they are linked to your Hardware ID as well.

Unfortunately, this is not an ironclad solution to the problem as markets for hardware ID spoofing software have begun to arise. This is to be expected since any attempt to stop cheating is going to lead to multiple avenues to get around that. This is compounded by multiple ‘undetectable’ cheats that are also on sale for games like Call of Duty and Battlefield.

Activision has announced that they will be introducing a brand new anti-cheat system with Vanguard, as well as Warzone when it is updated later this year. While nothing Activision can do will be perfect in the pursuit of fighting cheating it is at least encouraging to see these measures being taken.

Call of Duty: Vanguard is slated for release on November 5, 2021. On the Call of Duty: Warzone side of things, it will be getting a new map sometime this year that will tie into Vanguard.
