Along with Obsidian Entertainment, InXile was one of the studios that acquired by Microsoft last year. The team behind Wasteland series is now working on the third installment of the franchise. A sequel that’s going to be the biggest one in the whole series with tons of post-launch contents thanks to Microsoft’s support.
In a recent interview with Wccftech, Brian Fargo and Tim Campbell revealed InXile’s big plans for the post-launch support of the game, that would make it a Fallout of InXile. While the game itself features over 50 hours of story-driven gameplay with a high replayability due to the influence of your choices throughout the whole journey, there will be tons of upcoming contents for the game to guarantee its long-lasting presence in your games library next to titles like Fallout. Brian Fargo said:
We want to really strongly support the game. We have a lot and not just in terms of patches and updates but new content as well, new levels, additional story, weapons and all sorts of things that will be rolling out.
Before we might have not been sure about DLC plans or not been able to commit very far. And for this one, we’re planning to support Wasteland 3 for a long time. We’re hoping to work on this franchise for the next decade. This is our Fallout.
Despite being a Microsoft first-party studio, InXile’s Wasteland 3 will be coming to PS4 along with Xbox One and PC in Fall 2019.
