X018: Void Mode Announced for Devil May Cry 5

In the Xbox X018 event held in Mexico City today, Microsoft showed a video of Devil May Cry 5 producer Matt Walker joining director Hideaki Itsuno at the Capcom’s head office in Osaka, for the reveal of the new Void Mode coming to Devil May Cry 5. Director Hideaki Itsuno showed the features that will bring this new mode to the game, allowing players to practice combos or learn to use Nero’s Devil Breakers.

This mode is designed for players to test out new abilities and come up with their own stylish combos and gameplay styles in order to maximize the style points that the Devil May Cry series has been known for. This mechanic effectively encourages gamers to try new things and try different approaches of both offensive, evasive and defensive skills before allowing the player to spend their hard earned points into buying such skills.

Devil May Cry 5 producer Matt Walker joined director Hideaki Itsuno from Capcom’s head office in the vibrant city of Osaka to show off the rich culture of the city and share how the team draws from their surroundings. Itsuno provided insight into how Capcom’s action games are influenced by the Osaka area, before giving Inside Xbox a first look at the comprehensive training mode he’s created for Devil May Cry 5 – dubbed ‘The Void’. As a first for Xbox fans, Itsuno gave a personal tour of Nero’s Devil Breakers, including the bonus Devil Breakers available in the Deluxe Edition content of Devil May Cry 5.

Story

Nero seeks to recover many things in Red Grave: Lost pride…stolen power…and a man left behind. Brandishing his beloved Red Queen sword and custom Blue Rose revolver, Nero plunges into Red Grave, routing the demon hordes as he makes for the menacing phenomenon in the city center.

All the while, a new power crackles through his right arm… The all-new anti-demon arm known as the Devil Breaker.
