On November 14th, the X019 event begins and we have our hopes up for a few big announcements. This year, X019 takes place in London and lasts until the 16th of November. Over the course of those three days, we expect to see a handful of news that gets us excited for the future of Xbox.
At every large-scale event, we want to see new games and IPs announced and teased. Doing so keeps current Xbox fans invested, and brings in new gamers from other platforms. In terms of new IPs, one AAA title is hopefully announced. There will be smaller titles that spark interest, but many of the AAA titles will be saved for next year’s E3. The game that should be showed more thoroughly is Halo: Infinite. After the news of developers leaving the project, it would be wise to keep fans informed of the game’s current state. Showing off a new trailer would be a good start. The trailer does not have to be dense, but it should tease the game further. Halo has been the staple game for Xbox, but less so over the past few years. Giving us more information will remind us that Halo is still the face of Xbox and is the main Microsoft exclusive.
Project xCloud is a massive undertaking, and Microsoft is looking to capitalize on the streaming games concept. In October, gamers were able to beta test Project xCloud. They still have the chance to beta test it again if they sign up for it. The beta currently supports Gears 5, Halo 5: Guardians, Sea of Thieves, and Killer Instinct. The service is still in early stages, but steadily adding a game here and there could go a long way. At X019, Microsoft will more than likely give us updates on how the beta has gone so far, and add a new game to the xCloud list.
Game Pass has allowed gamers to play hundreds of titles, and has done a fantastic job of keeping the game library updated. Xbox is looking to keep Game Pass at the forefront of their platform; they will accomplish this by adding new titles. Microsoft already announced they will be revealing new games at X019. A few titles I would like to see come to the service are Rage 2, The Division 2, Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville, and Spyro/Crash Remaster. I don’t expect all these titles to be a part of Game Pass, but one of these games could be coming.Make sure to check out this year’s X019 event to see if any of our predictions were right and keep an eye out for big news from Xbox.
