will be giving Xbox players the ability to stream live on Twitch directly from the guide menu. Xbox insiders with Alpha Skip-Ahead access will soon be able to test the new system update which adds several new features to their console.
These insiders will now be able to begin streaming by navigating to the “Capture and Share” option on the menu, before selecting the “Live Streaming” option. Gamers will need to link their Twitch account to their system, but once that is done they will have the option to select “Go live now” to begin streaming their game live.
Prior to this, players would need to download an additional Twitch App to their system to be able to stream. This update will integrate that feature into the console’s firmware, making some streamers’ lives a little easier. Anybody that does stream however will know that streaming through a console can be limited, making this an easy tool to start streaming before gravitating to a capture card and OBS.
Another feature being added during this update will be to give Xbox One owners that are part of the Insiders program the ability to play Xbox Series X|S games on the previous-gen system using the power of Cloud Gaming. This continues the integration of the cloud across not only all of their consoles, but mobile devices and tablets as well.
Currently, there is no timetable as to when we can expect these updates to be available to Non-Insiders. Based on several previous updates that have been rolled out through this model, it is usually only a few months before everybody on the console can enjoy the new features.
For more information on the update, you can check the official release notes that were released on Xbox Wire.
