Xbox All Access Coming to Australia, U.K., and U.S.

Jeff Gattis, General Manager of Platform and Devices Marketing for Microsoft, announced today that Xbox All Access will be launching in Australia, U.K., and the U.S. on October 29, November 5, and November 18 respectively.

Xbox All Access is a financing deal between Microsoft and partners and retailers in each region. Xbox fans can purchase an Xbox from one of these retailers and, instead of buying the console up front, can make regular monthly payments until the console is paid off.

The partners participating with Microsoft on this financing agreement include Telstra in Australia, Klarna in the U.K., and Citizens Bank in the U.S. Gamers must be approved by one of these partners in their respective region in order to participate in Xbox All Access. Presumably, this means undergoing a credit check.

Xbox All Access is also only available with certain retailers: In-store and online at Telstra (Australia), in-store at GAME or in-person and online at Smyths Toys (U.K.), and online from Amazon.com in the U.S.

Moreover, an upgrade option exists in the U.K. and U.S. for those who use this financing deal to purchase an Xbox One S All-Digital Edition or Xbox One X to upgrade to Project Scarlett when it releases in holiday 2020. Players in Australia will have to buy their console outright (either up front or by finishing their Xbox All Access payments) before being able to upgrade to Project Scarlett with Xbox All Access.

However, gamers in the U.K. and U.S. who participate in Xbox All Access are only eligible to upgrade to use the program to upgrade to Project Scarlett if they purchase their Xbox One S All-Digital Edition or Xbox One X on or before December 31, 2019. Players who financed the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition must also pay an upgrade fee for Project Scarlett.

In addition, the upgrade must be done through the same retailer at which users purchased their original Xbox All Access console, and must trade in the console in order to upgrade to Project Scarlett if it is not fully paid off and at least 18 payments have been made.
