Xbox Game Pass Adds 9 More Games For August

The lineup for Xbox Game Pass saw Hades slash its way onto the roster earlier this month though, as well as one of my favorite games Katamari Damacy Reroll roll its way into the service. However, it also so Grand Theft Auto V leave after only 4 months, with the president of parent company Take-Two Stating ‘We believe that a subscription model makes sense for the titles in the catalog fund. But it doesn’t make sense for top-of-the-line titles.

For the second half of this month, the service will be adding several games sure to appeal to players looking for something new to play. This includes two Star Wars games, the indie game starring William Defoe, and a hot little racing game called Need For Speed Heat which is being added via the cloud. Below you can check out a complete list of what you can expect in the coming weeks.

August 17

  • Humankind (PC)
  • Need for Speed Heat (Cloud, via EA Play)
  • Star Wars Battlefront II (Cloud, via EA Play)
  • Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (Cloud, via EA Play)

August 19

  • Recompile (Cloud, Console, PC)
  • Train Sim World 2 (Cloud, Console, PC)
  • Twelve Minutes (Cloud, Console, PC)

August 25

  • Psychonauts 2 (Cloud, Console, PC)

August 26

  • Myst (Cloud, Console, PC)

As you can see among the titles we have some new games. The biggest among them include Humankind is a 4x that has been compared both favorably and not to the Civilization franchise. Twelve minutes is a time-loop indie game with  James McAvoy, Daisy Ridley, and Willem Dafoe playing the three central characters. And Psychonauts 2, the long-awaited sequel from the mind of Tim Schafer.

Of course, whenever games are added to the service others are taken off. If you were interested in playing these games grab them quickly as they will be leaving on August 31.

  • Blair Witch (Cloud, Console, PC)
  • Double Kick Heroes (Cloud, Console, PC)
  • NBA 2K21 (Cloud, Console)
  • Stranger Things 3: The Game (Cloud, Console, PC)

These, among the games already on the service, should offer plenty to gamers looking to play something new or go back and play something again. I can say for certain that I have been waiting to dig into Twelve Minutes.
