Xbox Partners With Tencent’s TiMi Studios

Tianmei Studio Group’s TiMi Studios announced a deep “strategic partnership” with Microsoft’s Xbox Game Studios. Through this strategic cooperation, both companies will work on “new game experiences”.

TiMi Studios is the developer of Call of Duty: Mobile and Honor of Kings, Nintendo also reached the studio for the development of the upcoming mobile strategy game Pokemon Unite. Xbox might be interested in bringing some of its biggest franchises to iOS and Android.

TiMi Studios and Xbox Game Studios will share more news about the partnership soon, more information could be revealed on May 16 during Tencent’s annual game conference where the Chinese giant will showcase nearly 60 new games.

The Chinese developer could develop mobile games for Halo, Gears of War, Forza, and many other franchises, Xbox fans can certainly expect more to be announced later this summer.

TiMi Studios reported $10 billion in revenue in 2020, making them one of the largest developers in the industry, Call of Duty Mobile recently achieved 500 million downloads worldwide, the China-only Honor of Kings has an impressive 100 million daily active users as of November 2020.

In the press release, TiMi also announced that it is in the process of recruiting developers for “a new AAA game that resembles the virtual community from the movie Ready Player One” and is also building a couple of new studios in Los Angeles.
